Other Activities

Country Dancing Club

In the summer months we hold our ever popular Country Dancing Club after school in the playground.

Country Dancing is run by Mrs. Griffith, one of our former teachers who just cannot keep away!

The club is open to both boys and girls from year 2 upwards and those attending the club are invited to participate in the Wells Country Dancing Festival, held on the cathedral green in June, and also in the Taunton Country Dance Festival, held in front of the bandstand in Vivary Park and now in its third year of running.

Book Exchange

Run in the school hall on Wednesday mornings by Claire Bleloch, the book exchange is an opportunity for children to choose from a varied and stimulating range of fiction and non-fiction literature. Books are borrowed for three weeks then exchanged on a class by class basis.

The book exchange welcomes donations of good quality books from home, suiting the age group 5-11, which can supplement our stock and give the children new titles to explore.

Tag Rugby

In the autumn and spring terms, the school enters a team in a monthly tag rugby tournament held in Taunton. This is made up of boys and girls from years 4 and above. Tag rugby sessions are held on an ad hoc basis on the school field by volunteer parent coaches Clem Woodward and Scott Nelmes.
