Seasons Greetings one and all!

Your Friends fundraising committee would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a thoroughly wonderful New Year!

Don’t take the chance! The Christmas holidays are so long, there is a danger that your brain could actually shrink if not used - unless you are lucky enough to have bought a Christmas Quiz sheet! Just £1 will protect those little grey cells - and provide hours of Festive challenge for all the family! Available from the school office, Churchinford shop and also on sale at the Victorian Christmas Fayre.

This will be our last newsletter of 2009 - so please bear with us while we tie up all the loose ends!

Firstly, a very big THANK YOU for all the filled jars that were sent in last Friday. We had a wonderful response and a lovely variety of decorated jars. We are sure that the Jam Jar Tombola at our Victorian Christmas Fayre next Friday will be a major attraction! Many thanks also to those of you who sent in an item for our Christmas Hamper Raffle.

Talking of raffle tickets….could you please send in any remaining ticket stubs and monies as soon as possible? Mark the envelopes for the attention of Elaine Walker, who is kindly co-ordinating the Hamper Raffle. The best of luck to everyone who has bought tickets!!

Another very popular stall is always the Bottle Tombola. Could we please put in a humble request for you to send in a bottle of some description?! We would really appreciate your assistance, so please bring them in to school as early as you can next week so that we can get on with sticking the winning tickets on! Many thanks in anticipation.

Staying on the subject of your valued assistance…………..donations of home-made cakes for the cake stall would be most welcome next Friday. Whatever your “signature” cake or biscuit is……….we would be very pleased to sell it on the night. People love home-made goods and the cake stall can raise a great amount for the school (but only if there are plenty of cakes to sell!).

Can you spare any time next Friday morning to help us set up the village hall? We plan to get ahead by doing it first thing in the morning after the school run………..and many hands will definitely make light work. Also, it is not too late to volunteer to help run a stall - either for an hour, or for the duration of the Fayre (5.30pm - 8.00pm) - please ring Pernelle Rowe on 601122 if you can help in any way.

Thank you to everyone who filled in the permission forms for their child/children to sing carols at the Fayre - we are really looking forward to hearing them perform. We also hope that you and your children will enjoy everything the Fayre has to offer!

We have plenty of games, such as Lucky Dip, Bah Humbug, Pin-The-Red-Nose-On-Rudolph, Jam Jar Tombola, Guess The Number Of Sweets, “Win a Santa” Treasure Hunt and Lucky Cracker to name quite a few! Add to that some last-minute-presents stalls, real Christmas trees & mistletoe for sale, delicious food and drink, seasonal music and Father Christmas in his snowy Grotto………and you have the makings of a really fun way to kick off the Christmas holidays! Plus, don’t miss the opportunity to buy some special Reindeer Food for your children to sprinkle over the lawn on Christmas Eve! Yes - we really are trying hard to think of everything!!

The fun all starts at Churchinford Village Hall, 5.30pm on Friday 18th December - Ho Ho Ho!!

Finally, just a quick reminder that school shopping bags (plastered in totally unique artwork by the children) are available from the school office and will also be on sale at the Victorian Christmas Fayre. Why not give some away as Christmas presents (but save one for yourself!)?
