Victorian Christmas Fayre

We know it was a long time ago and a few big things have happened in the interim (?!!) but the Friends would like to thank everyone who made the Fayre such a wonderful event. In particular we would like to thank Mr Mills and the staff for allowing the children to perform on the stage. We recognise that this took a monumental amount of effort with all the distractions and noise of the Fayre but you all did brilliantly. We would also like to thank Selena and Carrot for the magical path to Santa's Grotto, the preschool for letting us use the Yurt, and Jeanette Curran for decorating it so beautifully. We have already sent a letter to the Smeatharpe WI ladies in recognition of all their help on the stalls and would also like to thank everyone else who lent a hand.

Thanks to everyone's efforts we raised £1314.24 - not bad for a night's work! The Friends' committee will be meeting with Mr Mills in the next few weeks to find out his plans for the forthcoming year and how the Friends might contribute to these.

Carols and Songs Quiz

It gave Claire great pleasure to think of you all struggling over Christmas but she obviously made the quiz too easy as a greater number of people than usual entered! All correct entries were placed in a hat and the eventual winner was Joan Griffith who receives a prize of £10. Particularly reassuring was that the other teacher who entered, Mr Hyland, also got them all right. Aren't we blessed with a brainy bunch for our kids? Thank you to everyone who took part and for all the positive comments received.
