Our Summer Fun Day and Dog Show
raised a fantastic £2000 for school funds!!

What a scorcher! After last year’s washout, it really was a total pleasure to have to increase our drinks budget to include plenty of ice this year! People have been telling us what a lovely atmosphere there was and how much the whole family enjoyed themselves......and now that the dust has settled on all the hard work, this is music to our ears!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone – because we just couldn’t have done it without you! To everyone who manned a stall on the day, baked for the cake stall, turned up and got stuck into helping out, or just came along to support the school – we thank you!
Congratulations to Mr Mills and Mr Hyland for being such good sports – the Stocks made an impressive £70 as a result! We would also particularly like to thank those enterprising Class 3 pupils who thought up and manned their own stalls. Not only that, they also had no hesitation in publicising them over the PA system throughout the day – what a confident lot we turn out at Churchstanton School! Our staff really deserve a huge pat on the back for the part they play in this.

Alun Tarr’s Wacky Races were a triumph! Many thanks for all the hard work you had so obviously put in to making the cars and devising the course, Alun - it was such fun to watch! Congratulations also to Mrs Griffith and her ever-excellent Country Dancing team.

We are very pleased to announce that just over £1000 of the profit from our Fun Day is going to be used to purchase a fantastic new computerised “Junior Librarian” system for the school. There will be a catalogue of 1000 books and children will be able to scan their own books out. The system will keep various records including what each child has read.............in fact, just about the only thing it doesn’t do is make the tea!!

The Friends of Churchstanton School fundraising committee was set up many years ago to improve the quality of school life for everyone – by raising money for important “extras”. We hope you will agree that the new library system is a good way to spend some of our funds – and please remember we always welcome any suggestions you may have!
